The police have identified a raider who was shot while attempting to rob a bank in the east of Moscow on Wednesday, May 18, 2016.
At 20:40 (Moscow time), six persons were reported to have been taken hostage in one of the offices of Credit Bank of Moscow on Pervomayskaya Street. The raider threatened the staff with a gun-like object shouting that he could blow the building up.
Alexander Nikitin, the official of the Moscow Investigative Committee, reported to RBC that the branch office of Credit Bank of Moscow in the east of the capital was raided by Alexey Ukhin, born in the Moscow province in 1987. According to Nikitin, the police believed the criminal to have a bank robbery as his main motive.
The identity of the raider was establish by his bank card found on the crime scene. A search of the robber’s fingerprints in PAPILLON databases revealed his criminal background. The bank robber shot to death on Pervomayskaya Street had been previously convicted for larceny, Russian media reported.
