Fingerprint or palmprint scanners being efficient instruments of enrollment and control are currently included as standard in all up-to-date automated fingerprint/palmprint identification systems. The PAPILLON fingerprint/palmprint livescan devices running under the PAPILLON software are key constituents of the systems for fingerprint and palmprint identification designed and produced by our enterprise. Elastic contact surface (membrane) of the scanner optic units enables more accurate capture of ridge patterns, even of so-called “problem” fingers, i.e. with too dry skin, with rubbed-off or worn-out and low-relief pattern).
Moisture discriminating optics ensures high-quality fingerprint and palmprint images of sweaty hands. (example In Russian) Our program methods of image deblurring almost completely compensate for the effect of blurred or smeared pictures often met when taking rolled fingerprints. (example 16 Mb). Fingerprint and palmprint images produced by live-scanning with the 500 ppi resolution fully comply with the FBI’s IAFIS Image Quality Specification: CJIS-TD-0110; CJIS-RS-0010 (v. 7) app.F.
WSQ algorithm designed by our developers and FBI-certified in 1996 is used for image compression. Sensing platens of scanners are of a size ample for imaging full, noy truncated, impressions even of king-size hands. The DS-45 was certified in the FBI, USA, in February 2010. The certification of DS-45M is currently in progress.
DS-30N, DS-30NM, DS-22N and DS-21 scanners are currently being prepared for certification procedure. The high-precision algorithms of PAPILLON, tested out many times at matching the live-scanned images, ensure high reliability of those systems that use PAPILLON’s fingerprint and palmprint scanners.
An SDK is provided for every model of our scanners allowing their integration into multiple systems used for personal identification and access control.
